About

For more than 15 years, Georgia has created jewellery inspired by the romance and charm of antique French design. Designed in Australia and handcrafted in Istanbul, our collections are known for their sparkling crystal, distinctive character and effortless glamour. Every piece is created to bring joy - beautiful jewellery that feels special enough for an evening out and easy enough to wear every day. Treasures for Today.

Georgia began in my early twenties, though in many ways the story started much earlier.

My mum had been a passionate antique dealer for as long as I can remember and I grew up surrounded by beautiful objects and the stories they carried. I learnt early that the things we treasure most are rarely the newest - they’re the things made with care, character and a sense of occasion.

The first Georgia collections were created in Istanbul.

At the time, apprentice jewellers were learning traditional techniques by casting metal and setting stones into simple copper blocks - valuable practice, but work that rarely became anything meaningful. The idea behind Georgia was simple: what if those same apprentices could learn by creating beautiful pieces under the guidance of experienced jewellers? What if learning could produce something joyful and allow people to earn while developing their craft?

What emerged became something I hadn’t expected.

Work began moving beyond the workshops. Stone setting became something shared - women gathering together around kitchen tables, working, talking and creating in company. When I was invited to see it myself, I realised this wasn’t simply production; it felt human, collaborative and full of pride. It gave me confidence that Georgia could be something I felt good about sharing.

Back in Australia, I worked with a Melbourne PR agency to introduce Georgia to the world. At the time, I was young and still trying to understand who the customer would be and where the brand belonged.

What happened next surprised me.

Georgia began receiving editorial coverage in Australian magazines and, for a brief moment, found itself photographed and presented alongside established international fashion houses. One feature in Marie Claire styled the collection in a way that made this small jewellery project from Istanbul feel unexpectedly at home in a much bigger world.

Shortly afterwards, I received a phone call from a prominent Australian fashion label asking whether I could design and produce their accessories collection.

I said yes - and spent the next six years doing exactly that - and loved every minute.

When that chapter ended, I expected Georgia to end too.

Rather than wholesale the remaining pieces, I rented a cabinet at Dirty Janes in Bowral with the intention of selling through the last collection.

Instead, something unexpected happened.

The jewellery found a new audience - women who bought it simply because they loved it. Not because of a label or trend, but because it brought them joy.

So Georgia found new life.

Over time, we expanded into Dirty Janes Canberra and Orange, and later into The Emporium in Kalbar and Murwillumbah.

And now, if you’re reading this, this is the next chapter.

Georgia has been a wonderful adventure for me - one built on craftsmanship, beautiful things and the simple joy of wearing something you love.

I hope it brings you joy too.

Alexander.
